Fijian family-owned Malolo Island Resort has been officially inducted into the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA) Hall of Fame.

The induction coincided with the official launch of the Fiji Development Bank FETA 2026 held at the Coffee Hub outlet on Nadi Back Road. Located in the Mamanuca Group of Islands, Malolo Island Resort took home the Accommodation Deluxe (50 rooms or less) category for the third consecutive year at the FETA 2025.

The Hall of Fame honour is reserved for tourism operators who demonstrate consistent, high-level performance across multiple years and winning their category over three consecutive years, recognising outstanding guest experience, operational excellence, and leadership within Fiji’s tourism sector.

Winning in the Under 50 Rooms category highlights Malolo’s strength as an intimate, premium island resort — delivering personalised service, quality facilities, and authentic Fijian hospitality within a boutique setting.

Competing against Fiji’s leading boutique and deluxe properties, Malolo’s continued success reflects both product strength and the dedication of its long-standing team. Ahura Resorts group general manager Brad Calder said the recognition was a powerful endorsement of the team’s commitment to excellence.

“To achieve sustained excellence over three consecutive years is an extraordinary accomplishment for a boutique resort. It reflects the consistency of our standards, the strength of our culture and the passion our team brings every single day. Hall of Fame induction is not about one great year — it’s about delivering excellence year after year, and that is something the Malolo team should be immensely proud of,” Mr Calder said.

The Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards are judged by respected industry experts across both Fiji’s business and tourism sectors, as well as internationally. The Best Deluxe Accommodation – Under 50 Rooms category specifically recognises boutique-scale properties that deliver premium standards across accommodation, dining, service delivery, and guest satisfaction.

This milestone not only recognises past achievement but reinforces Malolo’s commitment to maintaining its leadership position within Fiji’s deluxe boutique resort category for years to come.

Malolo now joins an elite group of Hall of Fame inductees, including sister property Likuliku Lagoon Resort, which was the first tourism resort inducted in 2017 for the Luxury Accommodation category, and parent company Rosie Holidays, inducted in 2018 for Global Marketing; and again in 2024 for its significant contribution to Fiji’s tourism industry — particularly within the category of Conferences, Incentives and Events.

Together, the inductees represent a rare distinction — a fully Fijian-owned tourism group recognised at the highest level for excellence across leisure, luxury, and business events sectors.

Rosie Travel Group and Ahura Resorts managing director Tony Whitton said to have four of their brands now inducted into the Excellence in Tourism Hall of Fame was very humbling. “For a Fijian-owned family business to consistently achieve such accolades is testament to the company’s commitment to providing exceptional guest servicesand client experiences,” Mr Whitton said.

“But today we shine the light on our dearly loved Malolo Island Resort and its amazing people, and to thank our guests from all parts of the globe who choose our brands to deliver rest, inspiration and happiness.”
