“DRAU veilomani, sa rauta na gunu (love each other and that’s enough drinking),” were the last words Ilisabeta Dravuni told her two sons, as she headed for a church crusade in another village of Naitasiri.
Later that same evening, she received a call from police that both her sons were in a serious accident and one had passed away.
“We headed to Vunidawa Hospital and was informed that my younger son had passed away while the older one was rushed to CWM Hospital,” she said.
“When we got there, the doctor told us that Serupepeli’s body was already at the mortuary. This is the saddest day for our family.”
Her sons, Serupepeli Lalabalavu, 25, and Waisea Qaliyalewa, 20, were drinking alcohol at their house in Waitolu, Naitasiri, when an argument started.
Director Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana called on Fijians to be responsible.
