Exclusion zones declared for US Survivor series

The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji has declared exclusion zones in the Mamanuca Group for the filming of a new season of the US Survivor series 2024.

The exclusion zone has been declared under the Maritime (Navigation Safety) Regulations 2014.

“All ship owners/operators, masters, seafarers and the general public are advised that filming for the US Survivor series 2024 will take place in Mamanuca Group from 11 May to 25 July 2024,” MSAF manager qualification and licensing Joseph Williame said in a public notice.

Areas affected are Monu Riki Island, Monu Island — East side Tavua Island – Northeast to Southeast side Yadua and Mana Islands.

“All ships are required to give a wide berth of at least 1.5 nautical miles from the shores of the respective beaches/islands and avoid the above areas from 11th May to 25th July 2024.

“This notice is not applicable to Fiji Navy ships, Maritime Police, pilot ships, tugs and other ships required to attend and undertake emergency responses, or in case of ship emergencies requiring safe refuge at the respective islands.”
