Sixteen-year-old Nehemiah Elder won three gold medals in the men’s 88kg weightlifting, smashing nine Oceania and Pacific Mini Games records.

His lifts have boosted Fiji back up to third place on the medal tally, with 12 gold, 15 silver, and 13 bronze medals so far.

Merewalesi Roden added her second gold in para table tennis singles.

Silver medals were won by Akanisi Latu (para table tennis singles), Glen Finau (men’s hammer throw), and Chaandvi Prasad (women’s archery recurve).

In swimming, Hansel Mccgaig won a medal in the men’s 100m freestyle, and Fiji’s mixed 4x50m freestyle relay team also finished on the podium.

Fiji also picked up two bronze medals from Daniel Shaw in weightlifting.
