Government has appointed members of the Fiji Education Commission.
The Acting Minister for Education, Maciu Nalumisa signed the official appointment letters on Wednesday.
The seven members are:
- Dr Kesaia Seniloli
- Dr Priscilia Puamau
- Dr Vijay Naidu
- Filipe Jitoko
- Kelera Taloga
- Arvind Maharaj
- Dr Lavinoia Tiko.
The Ministry of Education said these individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the vital task of reviewing Fiji’s education landscape.
“The New Fiji Education Commission is tasked with a comprehensive review of the current education system,” said the Ministry.
They will identify strategies to improve teaching and leadership, assessment practices, and ensure the curriculum is relevant to the labour market and societal needs and the overall structure of the education system.
“This initiative builds upon a long history of education reviews in Fiji, dating back to the 1800s.”
