A FISHERMAN in Rewa is counting his lucky stars after he caught his biggest catch yesterday in the Rewa River.
Bissun Dutt hopes to sell his catch and complete the renovation of his house.
The 46-year-old father of four was surprised to snap up a giant grouper locally known as kavu.
The fish, about six feet long and weighing about 180kg was caught along the mouth of the river yesterday morning.
Mr Dutt said this was his third catch of such size within a space of one month.
“My first big catch was on the third of this month then another on the eighth and now on the 27th. I am selling the fish at $10 a kg and right now I have a lot of orders.”
Born in Drekena, Rewa, Mr Dutt has been fishing for the past 25 years and since then he has managed to raise four children – two are working, the eldest now residing in the US and the youngest still in school.
