Churchill Park in Lautoka, will host a groundbreaking rugby match on Friday, January 24, as the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua face Rugby Football Club Los Angeles (RFCLA).
This marks the first ever meeting between a Super Rugby Pacific team and a Major League Rugby (MLR) team, marking a significant milestone for the sport globally.
The Fijian Drua have made a name for themselves with their dynamic and entertaining style of play.
In just three seasons of Super Rugby Pacific, the team has reached the playoffs twice, captivating fans around the world.
Co-captains Tevita Ikanivere and Frank Lomani will lead a squad packed with Flying Fijians talent against an RFCLA team featuring star players like Christian Leali’ifano and Fijian Olympic gold medallist Semi Kunatani.
The Drua’s general manager rugby, Baden Stephenson, said, “This game will provide our players, coaches, and fans with a new and different stimulus and challenge.”

RFCLA, a rising franchise in MLR, is equally excited about this unique matchup.

Tickets are affordably priced at $5 for the grass embankment and $10 for the Timber, Gold, Silver and Waitui Stands, ensuring accessibility for families and fans.
