Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Mick Byrne has issued a passionate plea to the fans, urging them to turn out in force and support the team at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this Saturday.

Byrne reassured fans that despite their disappointing performance last week, the team is committed to regrouping and delivering their best performance for their loyal supporters.

“We know how much you love the team, and we know you turn up every week loud and supportive, be rest assured you have been spoken about in this room beginning of the week.

“We will turn up on Saturday and we will reward you with your unwavering support,” Byrne said.

With the Drua now in a must-win situation, Byrne emphasised the importance of the fans’ backing in their remaining home games.

Reflecting on last Saturday’s performance, Byrne acknowledged a lack of focus among the players despite their solid preparation throughout the week.

“The players were not focused on Saturday. I didn’t see that coming as we were expecting a tough performance from us,” Byrne added.

He conveyed a sense of determination within the team, noting that there is a newfound resolve among the players.

“Some angry men in the camp now so we will turn up on Saturday and will respond after last week’s loss.”

The match kicks off at 2pm.
