Western Force will be a tough opponent in the upcoming match against the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, as highlighted by head coach Glen Jackson.

Despite the team’s current standing preventing them from reaching the top six, Jackson stresses the importance of striving for a top seven finish and focusing exclusively on the task at hand.

“We are trying to finish as high as we can, even though now we can’t finish in the top six, reaching top seven will be a good outcome, but we are just concentrating on this game, and it goes a long way in winning this not only of our confidence but for the people of Fiji,” said Jackson.

Identifying the distinct strengths of the Force team, particularly their prowess in the line-out, Jackson emphasises the need to carefully analyse and counter their opponents’ strategies.

“Western Force team are really different from the Blues, their line-out is their weapon, we have highlighted a few areas that we have been working on, and also across the line during breakdown is a massive fight,”

Expressing his passion for the sport and his dedication to the team’s success, Jackson underscores the significance of self-belief and confidence among the players.

“It’s not the outcome we want, but I want our boys to do well, I want them to believe in themselves, we had a heck of distractions this year which hasn’t been ideal, we got a lot of players playing their last game here in Lautoka, so it’s important that they finish strongly.”

The Fijian Drua will take on the Force at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday.

The round 14 match kicks off at 3.35pm.
