MCDONALD’S Fijian Drua Women head coach Mike Legge was lost for words after watching his side secure their first-ever Super Rugby Women’s home final with a dominant 31-5 victory over Queensland Reds at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The Drua produced a powerful performance in front of their home supporters, scoring five tries to book their place in the decider, and Legge praised the commitment and hard work of his players throughout the season.

“It was a good game, I’m lost for words. I’m proud of the girls. They have worked hard to get here,” Legge said.

The Drua coach said the team’s success has been built around creating a positive environment where players can enjoy their rugby while continuing to improve.

“The confidence has always been there. It is about making sure the environment is a good one, a happy one. The girls play hard and we make sure the environment works. We have fun at training and create a positive style,” he said.

One of the standout performers for the Drua was number eight Sulita Waisega, who impressed with her physicality and work rate throughout the match.

Legge believes the young forward has a bright future ahead of her.

“Sulita is a special talent. She has worked hard this year and the best is yet to come for her,” he said.

Captain Kolora Lomani also produced a match-winning performance, scoring two tries in the second half to help seal the victory.

“I’m really proud of this lot,” Legge said.

With the Drua now preparing for their first home Super W final, Legge thanked the fans for their support and called on them to fill Churchill Park once again.

“Massive thanks to the Drua supporters. I still want to see a packed stadium. It is a proud day for everyone,” he said.

Queensland Reds head coach Andrew Fraser praised the Drua’s performance, describing them as the benchmark of women’s rugby.

“Drua Women are the powerhouse in the women’s rugby space. They were powerful, and their supporters and staff should be proud of them,” Fraser said.

Fraser believes the Drua will be a tough opponent in the final.

“Drua will be very hard to beat in the final,” he said.
