MONTREAL – Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will continue his decorated career after signing with Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.
The 37-year-old Ivory Coast international striker, who scored 163 goals from his 381 appearances for Chelsea, signed as a designated player which means his wages will not be restricted by the MLS salary cap.
Drogba won four league titles with the London club, including last year, and joins former English Premier League superstars Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in the MLS this season.
The Impact were looking to sign a high-profile forward following the retirement of Italian veteran Marco Di Vaio last season.
