Dravo shows class to win Tailevu 10s tournament

FIC Dravo rugby team were crowned the champions at the Taras Supermarket Tailevu Rugby 10S Tournament 2025, securing a thrilling 3-0 victory over FA & CO Mokani in a penalty drop goal after a tense sudden death period.

This hard-fought win saw FIC Dravo walking away with $1000 in prize money, showcasing their dedication and skill on the field.

In the women’s competition, Nausori Women’s Team clinched the title of Glamada Investment Women’s Champion by defeating Vugalei Women’s Team with a dominating score of 17-0.

The victorious team not only took home $300 in cash but also claimed the prestigious Kamikamica Trophy, solidifying their place as champions.

Tailevu Rugby Union club games chairman, Malakai Yamaivava, expressed his satisfaction with the tournament, noting the success of the competition that featured 32 teams over two weekends.

“The turnout of Tailevu rugby supporters and fans was great, it was really impressive, and we would like to acknowledge their continuous support,” said Yamaivava.

He adds the focus now shifts to the upcoming club games competition, with a meeting scheduled for Monday, June 23, where the kick-off date will be confirmed.

Yamaivava thanked all stakeholders of the Tailevu Rugby Football Union for their support in making the Taras Supermarket Tailevu Rugby 10S Tournament a resounding success.

Special recognition was extended to the Vanua of Tailevu, schools management, Tailevu Rugby Referees Association, medical team, Fiji Police Force, supporters, families, and friends.
