The TISA Insurance Dominion brothers team is leaving no stone unturned for the upcoming invitational St Joseph’s Marist sevens in Apia, Samoa from June 5-6.
For the players and management, competing at this tournament is both an honor and a challenge. While excitement for the competition grows, the team is still faced with a few setbacks. According to team manager Manasa Moto, seeking sponsors to assist the team’s demands is one of the many challenges the team is currently facing.
“Our major challenge at the moment is finding sponsors for the team, Moto said.”
Despite the setbacks, the team is focused and dedicated to its aim of proudly representing the club at regional level.
Preparations have intensified over the past few weeks with club games on Saturdays and training on the weekdays.
In an interview with halfback Beniamino Ratukoli, he commended the team for the dedication, sacrifices and hardworking attitude shown in the past weeks of preparation. The commitment shown from the team has been inspiring, with a strong display of unity, resilience and teamwork in the build up to this tournament.
“The boys have been working very hard. At times some players face financial restraints, but they would always make it to training every day, even if it means walking.”
“This is also a great opportunity for exposure in regional level competition for the boys,” Ratukoli said.
Although there have been challenges, the team remains determined in working towards a common goal and enjoying their participation at this tournament.
The team also has faith in its younger players, many of whom are expected to play key roles during the tournament. Management believes the competition will provide valuable exposure for the emerging talents and help prepare them for bigger opportunities in the future.
“We have a lot young and talented players on the team and we are excited to watch them play,” said Moto.
