TO meet the ever-increasing demand of the tourism market, two local deejays have organised the country’s first electronic dance music symposium.
Christopher Mallam and Albert Eastgate, popularly known as DJ Christonie and DJ Alby Nitro respectively, will host the DJs in Paradise workshop at Rhum-Bar, Port Denarau, starting today.
The meeting of 13 of the country’s top disc-spinners, the two say, has not been easy.
“Party tourism is a growing market and this is an area that our company — Technical Glitch — could make a difference in terms of training up and coming DJs in the latest technology,” said Mallam.
“We can then create a level of professionalism that can benefit the country.
“Through this workshop we hope to create a new revolution in Fiji’s music industry as the DJ culture here is still a ‘niche’ and with proper exposure and education we could easily discover and develop some very talented individuals who can take Fiji to the world, and bring the world to Fiji.”
