MUSIC band Divine will perform at the after-party of the opening night of the 2014 Fiji Fashion Week on May 29.
The house band for Sheraton Fiji will end the Resort Wear Category at the newly-refurbished Grand Pacific Hotel.
Divine’s Hanisi Maloney said it was only fitting they performed for the FJFW Resort Wear’s after-party because they usually performed for mainstream tourists.
“We’re definitely excited about playing at FJFW and the new Grand Pacific Hotel,” Maloney said.
In a statement from FJFW, it said Divine’s successful career included the opening for UB40’s Fiji Tour and the 2005 Lucky Dube Tour.
They began playing in 2004 at the Mocambo Hotel, now Novotel, and grew their career with the backing of corporate clients on Denarau.
FJFW sponsorship manager Atelaite Cama said the local band’s inclusion in the fashion event was a major achievement for Fiji Fashion Week.
“Divine performing under the stars at the Grand Pacific Hotel, what more could you ask for? It’s the hottest ticket in town,” Ms Cama said.
Tickets for the Resort Wear Show are available at Damodar City.
