Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka yesterday led a traditional welcome ceremony at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva for Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar, marking the start of high-level engagements.
The two leaders later addressed a joint press conference at the Office of the Prime Minister, where bilateral relations and areas of co-operation between Fiji and Israel are expected to be highlighted.
In the afternoon, the leaders officiated at the inauguration of the Embassy of Israel at the FHL Tower in Suva.
The series of events took place under strict security arrangements.
