DIGITAL marketing is one of the most effective avenues small businesses can use to promote products on a global scale.
During an e-commerce workshop in Nadi yesterday, Coach AMZ sales director Peter Nobbs highlighted his own journey of starting a business and later, turning to online retail giant Amazon for product distribution.
He stated this had worked wonders for his business.
Today, Mr Nobbs said Coach AMZ worked with organisations such as Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia to help businesses sell more products on Amazon.
“We partner with PTI to help businesses in the Pacific export out to Australia and Europe using the Amazon platform,” he said.
“This allows them to get a huge database of customers to sell to who have credit cards and it’s really good to tap in those markets.”
While small businesses would not necessarily have the capital to push and distribute their products in overseas markets, Mr Nobbs said Amazon was a great way for small enterprises to market their products to more than 500 million people worldwide.
“On average, Amazon is growing at about 25 per cent per annum and every two dollars spent online, one dollar is spent on Amazon.
“It’s really good to help businesses in Fiji sell globally, no matter how small and large you are, you can definitely make progress.”
He said this was something more businesses needed to be educated and made aware of.
