The Frank Hilton Organisation in Suva has been given a 30kVa diesel three-phase generator valued at more than $20,000 by IHG Fiji Hotels and Filter Supplies Pte Ltd.

In accepting the gift, Frank Hilton Organization chief executive officer Sureni Perera said the organisation relied heavily on the support and donations of corporates and individuals to bridge the funding deficit and maintain continuity of the services it provided to more than 1000 children with disabilities and their families.

“The care component, including special blended meals, ensuring health, hygiene, and infection prevention, functions of nebulisers, hoists, laundry, etc., require power.

“During power outages, there is a huge disruption to services, requiring caregivers to manually manage these functions.

“The generator will mitigate this issue and is a timely Christmas gift to us.

“We are immensely thankful to the IHG Hotels & Resorts Team, who have been very thoughtful and accommodating during the process, understanding our needs, and most of all, considering the needs of the children under our care,” Mr Perera said.

IHG portfolio general manager Lachlan Walker said the collaboration aligned with IHG’s “Journey to Tomorrow” initiatives, which committed to improving the lives of 30 million people in communities around the world.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to Filter Supplies Pte Ltd for their partnership in making a significant difference to the Frank Hilton Organization and the children they look after,” Mr Walker said.

Frank Hilton Organization is the only early detection and intervention service provider in Fiji.
