Tower Insurance has officially announced the recipients of its inaugural Vunilagi Scholarship, a strategic initiative aimed at developing future leaders within Fiji and its insurance sector.

The three successful applicants are Aqela Buloudruadrua, Shayal Gosai and Saula Baleinubu and they were chosen following a comprehensive selection process.

At a special event held at Tower’s new Suva hub, Jajeena Bhan, co-head of Tower Suva Hub, acknowledged the high calibre of applicants.

“Our goal is to identify inspiring students who could contribute to building a more equitable, resilient and sustainable future for all Fijians,” Ms Bhan said.

“Aqela, Shayal, and Saula represent the potential we are looking for.”

The Vunilagi Scholarship was launched as part of Tower’s 150th anniversary celebrations in Fiji and offered to cover a full year of tuition fees for three final-year students at the University of the South Pacific (USP).  It includes paid internships that can lead to permanent employment at Tower Insurance.

This program was meant not only to address the educational needs of students but also to align with the company’s strategic goal of cultivating local talent to strengthen its workforce.

Successful applicant Ms Gosai said receiving the scholarship had instilled in her a sense of duty to contribute positively to her community.

Mr Baleinubu said the scholarship would provide him with critical skills and networking opportunities essential to his future career.

Ms Buloudruadrua expressed her gratitude, stating that the support would empower her to achieve her personal and professional goals.

By launching the Vunilagi Scholarship, Tower Insurance stated it had positioned itself as a proactive player in the local market, investing in the next generation of leaders while reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility in Fiji.
