FOR the 19th year in a row, Fiji Fashion Week brought colour, creativity and confidence to the runway, closing this year’s event with another showcase of Pacific fashion.
Despite pressure caused by escalating tensions in the Middle East, FJFW managing director Ellen Whippy said the committee delivered a show worthy of its reputation and audience.
The highlight of the evening was the awards night, where Mohammed Shameem was named Male Model of the Year, while Anushka Nand received the Female Model of the Year award following her standout runway performances.
Emerging designer Shane Laboriel was named FJFW Emerging Designer of the Year, while Kui Viti received the Best Textile and Print award for its creativity and craftsmanship.
The Chris Vanua Designer of the Year award was presented to Jacque Whippy for excellence in fashion design.
Jadeine Whiteside also received the Managing Director’s Special Achievement Award for her contribution to the FJFW community.
