In order to strengthen cooperation with port operators, Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Port Denarau Marina Ltd (PDML).

Port Denarau Marina is an approved port of entry in Fiji and through this MOU, both parties aim to share information that would assist with their respective operational objectives and mandates.

“PDML is one of the very few privately owned ports of entry. We operate to international standards and would need to be compliant with all border security requirements,” said Cynthia Rasch, PDML chief executive officer.

“This is a welcomed step towards better improving services and disseminating much needed information to yachts, tourists, and locals that use Port Denarau Marina.”

BAF CEO Surend Pratap said they were pleased that PDML was willing to work collaboratively with BAF.

“This is a testament to BAF’s stand that Biosecurity is a shared responsibility. BAF looks forward to working with PDML in the near future. “
