“WE cannot lose any more points.”
This is the word from Rewa football head coach Rodicks Singh that will propel his side onto the field when they meet Ba at 6pm at Churchill Park in Lautoka today for the Extra Premier League.
It’s a stern resolve from the head coach after his side was the subject of a major upset by Nadroga when they were defeated 1-2 on their home turf at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori last Sunday.
As the team will strut its stuff and attempt to redeem themselves following the loss, Singh says his side knows what’s on the line for them.
“We all know what is at stake with another very crucial three points on hand, on offer and this league is very important,” he emphasised.
“And for us, it’s to do our best and get the win tomorrow (which) is very important.”
With this week’s round being an important one since it will serve as a qualifying round for the BiC Fiji FACT 2025 competition, he reflected on the match’s significance from Rewa’s side.
“It is a very important game for us, because we have lost many points last week against Nadroga and the way the league is shaping, we cannot lose any more points,” he said.
“We know that we have put ourselves in a bit of shame but again, we have done our best trying to reset the focus and know how important the game against Ba is.”
As the match against the Men in Black will unfold, the coach added the team could not allow itself to move into a state of panic when encountering tense situations like they did when they faced Nadroga last week.
Meanwhile, he said the players were looking forward to running out onto the field in Lautoka tonight.
