EXPECT three potential debutants to heed the call of Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau at the HSBC SVNS World Championship this weekend, after the 13-member squad was named recently.
Iliavi Masori, Lasaro Bogisa and Aisea Nawai have been named as prospects to play in the national white jumper.
Nawai’s inclusion in the team, comes a month after he joined the extended training squad.
He was drafted into the team alongside his Swire Shipping Fijian Drua teammate Isikeli Basiyalo, who eventually got selected for the Hong Kong 7s last month.
Masori joins his brother Joji Nasova, who has been a part of the team during the recent legs of the HSBC SVNS Series.
The duo last played together during the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Bogisa enters the team from the Fiji men’s 7s development squad and is the son of Rasolosolo Bogisa, the former Flying Fijian and winning captain of Ratu Kadavulevu School in the 1993 Deans Competition.
He has represented Nawaka and Saunaka in various local rugby tournaments and dons the white jumper more than a year since he joined camp in the hopes of securing a spot in last year’s Singapore 7s.
Injuries have also ruled out Jeremaia Matana, Joseva Talacolo, Iowane Teba and Vuiviwa Naduvalo.
