FOUR Vodafone Super Deans and Weet-Bix Raluve semi-finals will be played alongside the Vodafone Fijiana XVs second Test match against South Africa in Churchill Park, Lautoka.
The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Interim committee, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Fiji Rakavi Football Union, has confirmed a two-venue program for the national semi-finals.
The arrangement will give secondary school students the opportunity to play in front of a large crowd and share the stage with the Fijiana XV.
Interim committee representative Biu Colati said the program aimed at strengthening the development pathway for secondary schools rugby.
“Our priority has always been to provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes while continuing to strengthen the development pathway for secondary school rugby,” Colati said.
The Churchill Park program will begin with the Vodafone Super Deans under-14 semi-final between Ratu Navula College and Ratu Kadavulevu School, followed by the U19 clash between Ratu Navula College and Lelean Memorial School.
The Weet-Bix Raluve U16 semifinal between Sigatoka Methodist College and St Vincent College will also be played at Churchill Park.
The Fijiana XV will meet the Springbok women at 1pm in the second Test match, with Fiji aiming to level the series and retain the trophy.
The final school match of the day will be the Vodafone Super Deans U18 semi-final between Suva Grammar School and Ra High School. Ra has enjoyed a strong campaign after entering the Northern Division playoffs as the Western division’s fourth ranked qualifier. The remaining semi-finals will be played at the HFC Bank Stadium, Buckhurst ground 1 and Bidesi ground.
