Justin Ho’s application this morning for a closed court was refused.

His lawyer, Iqbal Khan, served an application this morning at the High Court in Lautoka, requesting a closed court hearing in the absence of the media and members of the public.

He claims that the threats to his client, Mr Justin Ho, have affected him and his family and requested a closed court hearing for their safety.

However, this has been refused by High Court Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge.

Justice Aluthge said he had the confidence in the authorities that Mr Ho would be protected, especially the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS).

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku said they were not informed of this application by Mr Khan before today’s court proceedings.

He said they could have filed a police complaint regarding the threat claims by the drug accused, Justin Ho.

The trial continues this morning, where the defence counsels will give evidence in court.
