A strike at Aspen Lautoka and Ba hospitals will start at 7am on Thursday February 6, 2025.
This has been announced by the Construction Energy and Timber Workers Union of Fiji (CETWUF)
Construction Energy and Timber Workers Union of Fiji (CETWUF) National Secretary, John Paul had a meeting with his members at the Aspen Medical run Ba Hospital during the workers lunch break today.
CETWUF said since the union representatives were not allowed inside the hospital premises by Aspen Medical, Mr Paul met the workers on the roadside.
“The union has given a strike notice to Aspen Medical. Workers will stop work at 7am on February 6 if the dispute is not resolved by then.
CETWUF has about 200 members at the Lautoka and Ba Aspen Hospitals’ and they are employed as chefs, cooks, ward assistants, pharmacists, laundry staff, maintenance staff, ground staff, drivers including ambulance drivers, security guards, cleaners, admin staff, operating theatre technicians, X -ray and blood testing technicians.
