International visitors now have more reasons to travel to Fiji with the latest advanced packages on offer by tourism operators.

The latest is the introduction of the Fiji Luxury Small Ship Expedition Cruising by Captain Cook Cruises.

Guests get to enjoy a maiden voyage on board the new MV Caledonian Sky in November to northern Lau and then to Samoa.

Captain Cook Cruises CEO Allison Haworth said this exclusive product marked the dawn of a new era for high-end cruise experiences never before seen in Fiji.

Remote, exclusive and unique was how she described it to investors and operators at the recent Fijian Tourism Expo.

She said this newest package would allow guests to visit the hard-to-reach parts of the Lau Group, the remote north, the Yasawa, Mamanuca Group and neighbouring Samoa and Tonga.

The MV Caledonian Sky features a spacious boutique comfort with capacity of 114 passengers, 57 ‘elegant’ view suites many with private balconies, an expansive sky deck, private dining, Alfresco and a la carte dining, and 10 expedition zodiacs.

“We are extremely excited about the arrival of this ship,” Ms Haworth said.

“And we offer very unique and authentic experiences to unreachable destinations and we are now bringing down the Caledonian Sky in elevating the experiences on many levels.

“And that’s why it’s so thrilling because we’re able to provide a higher quality in on-board facilities and experiences on the ship as well as the surfaces on the ship.”

Ms Haworth said this latest package offered three to seven different itineraries to more islands, expected to be of great benefit to receiving communities and an exchange of experience with people from all sorts of places in the world who would be going to places that no tourists had visited.

“And we feel honoured to have that opportunity and quite frankly, we take a very good sense of responsibility in those journeys and we respect the communities that we’re visiting on a cultural level or environmental level as well.

“So we’re honoured to have this opportunity to bring her own skier to Fiji and lift their cruise product offering and the exploration in this part of the world.”
