This week’s Crest chicken recipe promotion profile, is Jonathan Lee.

Mr Lee has been using Crest chicken products for as long as he can remember and his favourite dish to prepare is the chicken cashew nut recipe.

“I use Crest chicken because it’s affordable, its value for money, its packaging style and its great quality,” Mr Lee said.

“My family has always used this product. We mostly use this at home, at family events and at friends’ functions and fundraising activities.

“At home Crest chicken products are used two to three times a week. “It is used to make curry chicken, stir- fry chicken, chicken soup, black bean chicken and one of my favourite dishes — roast chicken.” Mr Lee who works at Irwin Alsop Pacific Ltd says he uses Crest chicken products in his recipe because the quality of meat is always good and the dishes he cooks turns out delicious.

“One major problem facing Fiji is the increase in NCDs and I believe people need to eat healthy. This can be achieved by reducing excessive use of certain products such as salt, sugar and oil.

There are many healthy vegetables that are grown in Fiji and it would be advisable to use these with Crest chicken products when preparing a meal,” he said.

Simple quick chicken dish

Ingredients:

n2 tablespoons olive oil;

n2 tablespoons soy sauce;

* 1 onion (chopped);

n3 tablespoons white sugar;

n1 #12 Crest chicken chopped into stir-fry pieces;

* 2 tablespoons lemon juice;

n3 tablespoons tomato sauce;

n1 teaspoon ground black pepper.

Method

nUse a medium or large stainless steel pot fry the onion in high heat until translucent;

nAdd Crest chicken pieces and fry until lightly brown;

nAdd in a bowl of soy sauce, white sugar, lemon juice, tomato sauce and black pepper and mix well together;

nPour the mixture over the chicken and bring to a boil. Cover pot and reduce heat; and

nLeave to cook for 25 — 35 minutes and enjoy your simple quick chicken dish with your family.
