A total of 660 people are undergoing a mandatory 14-day quarantine in Fiji’s Government-supervised border quarantine facilities.
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services confirmed this in its report update dated Friday, March 5.
Three days have lapsed since the last border quarantine case of COVID-19 was reported, there has been one recovery, leaving six active border quarantine cases admitted at the Lautoka hospital isolation unit at present.
It has been 321 days since the last case was detected outside border quarantine on April 18, 2020.
Fiji has had 63 cases in total, 55 recoveries, and two deaths, since the country’s first case was reported on March 19, 2020.
The last 45 cases have been international travel-associated cases detected in border quarantine.
A total of 31,695 COVID-19 laboratory tests have been conducted, with a daily average of 225 tests conducted a day over the last seven days, and a weekly average of 1162 tests a week over the last two weeks.
