A CASE involving a man who sewed her step daughter’s private parts after raping her has been labelled as one of the worst cases of sexual violence on a child to be heard in Fiji’s courts.

The man appeared before the High Court judge Justice Paul Madigan in Labasa last Thursday, charged with two representative counts of digital rape, a count of penile rape and a count of intent to cause grievous harm against his step daughter.

The man was sentenced to 14 year imprisonment to be served concurrently with his pre-existing sentence of 10 years.

Justice Madigan showed no leniency as he fixed a new non-parole period of 12 years.
