A police officer accused of sexually assaulting a minor has been granted bail by the High Court in Labasa.
Viliame Sowakula is alleged to have committed the offence between April 1 and 13 this year.
He appeared in court alongside former police officer Ratu Roko Namalumu, who is facing similar charges.
Mr Namalumu, however, was remanded in custody.
Both men appeared before Judge Lee James Burney.
Mr Sowakula’s case has been adjourned to May 21 for a plea while Mr Namalumu is expected to reappear in court on Wednesday for his bail hearing.
