A 41-year-old man and his 35-year-old wife are in Police custody after they were allegedly found in possession of white powder believed to be illicit drugs and housebreaking implements.
The couple was arrested at around 1am yesterday after Police stopped and searched their vehicle at a checkpoint in Dokanaisuva.
Police say the vehicle was also found to have an expired wheel tax, while the man, who was driving, did not have a valid driving licence.
The couple remains in custody as Police investigations continue.
Police are expected to establish the nature of the suspected drugs and determine the circumstances surrounding the possession of the housebreaking implements.
