THE Nasinu Town Council is working with the Ministry of Health in combating the spread of dengue fever by conducting a Dengue clean-up campaign in the Suva and Nausori area.

The council conducted their clean up at the St Giles Hospital as well, including seven other wards in the Nasinu area.

Operation supervisor Francis Singh said the initiative was a big step in helping reduce any further dengue outbreaks, while also keeping the environment clean.

“We want to help those living in the Suva area as well, so we’ve been told by our chairman Felix Magnus to clear the rubbish from the St Giles Hospital,” Mr Singh said.

“We have our boys here to pick up all the rubbish, and today we are focusing on Caubati and St Giles.”

A staff of the hospital said they had been collecting and clearing rubbish this week in their vicinity to avoid the spread of the dengue outbreak to the patients and other staff.
