Women of the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) gathered in Suva on October 27 to mark Pinktober, promoting cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection.

Chief guest Dr Unaisi Tabua highlighted the importance of regular screening and recognising early warning signs of breast and cervical cancer.

“Women in uniform, strong in service, but you are not invincible,” Dr Tabua reminded officers.

She urged women to prioritise their health despite demanding work schedules and family responsibilities, encouraging them to seek medical advice without fear, hesitation, or embarrassment.

She also stressed the importance of sharing cancer awareness within families and communities.
