A Lautoka-based police officer has been charged for raping a fellow female officer over the weekend.
The alleged incident happened at the single man’s barracks in Lautoka where the constable used force to enter the room of the victim.
He was remanded in custody by the Lautoka Magistrates Court and ordered to appear at the High Court on October 6.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the officer would also face internal disciplinary investigations.
“He has also been interdicted without pay and will also be processed internally for his conduct,” she said.
