HAVING a consumer protection and empowerment policy within Fiji’s Green Growth Framework will assist government in achieving the objectives of the policy, says Fiji Consumer Council CEO Premila Kumar.
Following last week’s successful Pacific Islands Development Forum meeting, Ms Kumar said consumers were an important aspect of encouraging sustainable development in a country.
“Green Growth is about development centred on people, then it is really the people who are making the choices,” she said.
“I am very much interested in the sustainable consumption aspect to be part of the Green Growth Framework.”
She added Fiji’s sustainable development also depended on consumers.
