Ten-month-old conjoined twins Di Cecea and Jesipeli Kikau will leave Fiji tomorrow for Saudi Arabia, where they are scheduled to undergo a life-changing separation surgery.
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services says the twins were born at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva alongside their singleton sister, Hossana.
The ministry says the surgery will be carried out at King Salman Hospital in Saudi Arabia, with the Saudi Government fully funding the family’s airfares and accommodation as part of the strong bilateral relationship between Fiji and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Health is covering the cost of a medical escort to accompany the family on their journey.
The ministry has called on Fijians to keep the family in their prayers, expressing hope for a successful operation and the safe return of the children to Fiji.
