VARIOUS stakeholders participated in the Fiji National University’s National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) 2025 Fiji Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) conference in Nadi late last month.

Participants included representatives from the Nadi Town Council, Fiji Agro Marketing and Parliament.

The university’s Pro-Vice Chancellor TVET, Dr Isimeli Tagicakiverata, said this was the fourth conference hosted by the FNU.

“This year’s gathering is held under a bold and timely theme: Revolutionising Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalisation at Work,” he said.

“This conference is an opportunity for us to bridge the gap between aspiration and implementation.

“It is a platform to share best practices, explore emerging technologies, and build stronger alliances between government, academia, and the private sector. It reminds us that good safety is good business, and that innovation and compassion must go hand in hand.

“It can support smarter decision-making, streamline compliance, and personalise safety interventions, but only if we equip ourselves with the knowledge and courage to use it wisely.”
