FIJI’S Vude Queen Laisa Vulakoro is pleading with members of the public to assist local artist Jale Mareau who lost his home in a fire two months ago.
The 58-year-old grandfather now resides with his family in a corrugated iron shack just a few metres away from the remains of his home at Lepanoni Settlement in Deuba.
Vulakoro said they would be organising a concert this Friday with few local artists at the Pearl Resort to financially support the Mareau family.
“Jale has contributed to our nation through his music and we have been together in a lot of tours promoting Fiji through our music. Now it’s time that we help him rebuild his life,” she said.
“I am pleading to the public to come down to Pearl Resort this Friday and support us as we try to raise funds for Jale’s family. The tickets are $55 per person with unlimited food and listen to performances from our local artists.”
