THE Land Transport Authority is calling on illegal operators in the Western Division to join the authority in a round of discussions with legal operators later this week.
The call comes after a fresh wave of concerns were submitted to LTA by public service vehicle owners, about how illegal operators were affecting their businesses.
“There is that general feeling among them that if they show themselves, they will be immediately booked by us,” said LTA spokesman Iliesa Sokia.
“But in this meeting where we will meet with a number of our stakeholders to discuss the issue of illegal operators, we would like them to be part of our discussions.”
Duavata Van Services of Fiji Association president Bijen Prasad said it was a positive move by the authority.
The meeting will be held on Thursday.
