In a pivotal move for Fiji’s thriving tourism sector, renowned local security solutions provider GuardForce has embarked on a mission to enhance Aviation Security (AVSEC) standards at Nadi airport.

At the forefront of this initiative is 21-year-old Fatima Ali, GuardForce’s representative for the Bula Festival Queen category, who stands as the ambassador for the company’s vision.

Her intentions reportedly extend beyond security, aiming to promote mental health awareness within the AVSEC community, recognising the officers’ crucial role in safeguarding not only passengers but also the reputation of Fiji’s tourism industry.

According to Tourism Fiji, GuardForce’s campaign is a vital effort to educate the public about the indispensable role of AVSEC security officers.

“By boosting the pride and self-esteem of these dedicated professionals, GuardForce ensures that they stand tall as tourism’s silent guardians,” a press release stated.

“By raising awareness about the importance of security at Nadi Airport, the training and responsibilities of AVSEC officers, and the international standards that underpin Fiji’s aviation safety, GuardForce and Fatima Ali will help strengthen Fiji’s position as a premier tourist destination, where safety and hospitality go hand in hand.”
