THE Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission visited Muanaira Village in Vutia in Rewa yesterday to conduct awareness on their Human Rights Community-led Development project with focus on human rights.
The villagers shared their views on the project and raised multiple issues including the water shortage they had been experiencing for the past decade.
Speaking at the meeting was village elder Kemu Tubuna who said they needed help with the water pipes as they would experience low pressure to no water at all every day.
Project advocacy manager Laisiasa Rogoyawa said five water tanks would be provided to the villagers this week, and 65 would be provided to the rest of the villagers before the year ends.
“We have received five applications so far, and we will be providing these water tanks by end of this week or next week,” Mr Rogoyawa said.
“Those who have not filled in their forms yet, to fill it in as soon as possible and send it through to us so that we may provide more tanks to you.”
