A book on Fiji has been re-published in Japan, this time in a comic version.
It is written by Colors Fiji English School general manager Yuma Nagasaki and is titled “Fiji’s Happiness Theory”.
In 2015, “Fiji’s Happiness Theory” was published in Japan and according to Mr Nagasaki, many Japanese readers became interested in visiting Fiji after reading his novel.
“The book focuses on what I have learned in Fiji to feel happier and now the book has been re-branded into a graphic novel which will get more readers and hopefully they get inspired by the Fijian lifestyle,” he said.
Mr Nagasaki said in Japan, it was important to survive without asking for the other’s help.
“They are often told ‘don’t bother others’ in family and school education. On the other hand, Fiji is a mutual-help society.
“In Fiji, collaboration is more important than competition. They are addicted to helping each other which is why they can get happy easily.”
Mr Nagasaki hoped the book will provide Japanese nationals with the opportunity to re-think and realise how to get happy
