THE Fiji Rugby Union has named Andrew Tui Osborne as the new head coach for the Sports World Fijian Under-20.
FRU said he had been chosen following a very competitive recruitment process, and was seen as the most exceptional for the position with his proven years of coaching experience in the field in the United States.
The newly appointed head coach emphasises on his desire to give back to Fijian rugby.
After spending about 14 years coaching and developing players in US colleges and professional systems, “this is a great opportunity to return and reconnect to his Fijian roots and contribute to the growth of Fijian rugby”.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as head coach of the Fiji U20 and be part of the national pathway,” said Osborne.
“My focus during this term is to support and strengthen the pathway by helping align standards from grassroots to elite levels, while creating an environment that prepares our young players for the demands of international rugby.”
Following the appointment, Osborne will begin preparations for the 2026 World Rugby Junior World Championship, which will be hosted in Georgia from June 27-July 18.
The Fiji U20 have been drawn in Pool D with France, Australia and Spain.
Fixtures: June 28 – Fiji v France, July 2 – Fiji v Australia, July 8 – Fiji v Spain.
