FLYING Fijians assistant coach Senirusi Seruvakula said it would be a big step for local players who had the opportunity to wear the white jersey in their match against the Barbarians this weekend.

“It is a big step,” Seruvakula said.

“Especially for those coming through the Fiji Airways Fijian Drua and now the Flying Fijians.

“And they get a chance to mix up and learn from those players returning from the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Serivakula said the inclusion of Flying Fijians’ Mosese Voka, Eroni Mawi and Frank Lomani, would be a boost for the Drua players knowing they had come through a similar pathway in representing Fiji.

“It’s great exposure for the local boys,” Seruvakula said they would look to create an upset this weekend.

“Anything is possible, we just need to keep to our game plan and play our Fijian style of rugby.”

The Flying Fijians play a strong Babaas line-up laced with players from the Rugby World Cup champion side South Africa.
