Ba Rugby will hold its Special General Meeting at 2pm today at the Bure by Ba Market, with all registered clubs requested to send two representatives.
“The SGM is a time to discuss rugby matters, especially for the 2025 season,” BRU Secretary Gaby Kautoga said.
“The 15s season is likely to look very different next year – both the FRU tournaments and our own competitions.”
Kautoga explained that the Ba club competition will have a Premier Division made up of the top 16 finishers this year, with all other clubs playing in the second tier.
“The Executives would like to propose automatic relegation and promotion, but we’ll have to see what the Members say.”
Kautoga added that Premier Division clubs might be asked to pay a higher registration fee than the others as their prize money will be higher.
“It’s for issues like these that it’s important all clubs send a representative,” he stressed.
“The process needs to be democratic as it affects every team.”
Other key issues to be discussed include player insurance, player registration and code of conduct.
