As part of the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) 100 years celebration, a clean-up campaign was organised by the CWM Board of Visitors and hospital staff members early yesterday morning.
Health workers and partners including a team from the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) turned up with cleaning supplies to maintain the cleanliness of the hospital for patients and staff members.
Dr Nasedra said they have companies that are contracted by the Ministry to maintain the daily cleaning of the hospital.
“Apart from this cleanup, they (hospital staff) continue to do their normal cleanups everyday,” he said.
“Most of their cleanups they do is within the walls and around the sides of the hospital.
“But this cleanup today (Saturday) is mostly on the grounds and outside the hospital.”
Dr Nasedra adds for next year in 2024, they will continue to organise similar cleanups.
Board of Visitors chair, Dr Esther Williams said they have been working tirelessly and supporting CWMH Medical Superintendent Doctor Luke Nasedra and hospital management in the celebrations for the hospital.
The centennial celebrations will also include the planting of 100 trees around the hospital compound and a sports day for hospital staff members.
