Civil servants and those working in government entities have been directed to take a survey on climate change between March 21 to April 15.
The survey has been undertaken by the Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC).
In a circular issued on March 12, acting permanent secretary for MCS, Samuela Moce said the survey is to assess how climate change impacts daily work.
This will examine key human resource management practices and explore areas to strengthen the public sector’s role in climate resilience, including climate change knowledge and awareness, capacity building and coordination.
“MCS and MECC seek responses from all public servants at all levels, even those whose work is not primarily or directly related to climate change,” states Mr Moce.
“Candid responses to the survey are critical for an accurate understanding of the public sector.”
“The survey will be conducted with strict confidentiality and data collected will be anonymised and no individual responses will be reported.”’
