Church marks milestone

ABOUT 2000 people gathered at the World Harvest Centre in Suva last night to witness the second night of preaching during the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Christian Mission Fellowship Church.

Church members from across the country, as well as those living abroad, are in the country to be part of the six-day event.

In sharing the early beginnings of the church, president and founder Reverend Suliasi Kurulo shared the challenges faced in trying to register a church that was now one of the largest denominations in the country and is represented in 120 countries with about 3000 members globally.

Mr Kurulo, in his message to members of the congregation in the CMF’s souvenir magazine, said teamwork was always vital if someone was to succeed in their plans.

The church owns one of the biggest churches in Fiji with a seating capacity of 3500 and valued at $6.3million.

Mr Kurulo said one of the biggest challenges as the founder and leader of the CMF church was during the construction of the World Harvest Centre.

“A lot of people fail because they don’t have a fixed goal in their lives. Even though they have certain dreams, they will fail without tangible plans,” he said.

“It is difficult for one to achieve a goal by himself, one’s idea must be supported by other’s help and skills and should be managed in unison.”

The conference ends on Friday with programs lined up from 8am until 9pm every day until Friday.
