The Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma has confirmed new top leadership for 2027 and re-elected two senior office bearers during its annual conference.

The conference re-elected Reverend Dr Anil Reuben as assistant general secretary. Dr Reuben, who is nearing retirement, was confirmed for another term. Rev Dr Reuben has served 50 years in the Methodist Church, and this is his final appointment.

The current president, Reverend Dr Semisi Turagavou, has been elected as the new general secretary. Reverend Dr Jolami Lasawa was elected as president-elect for 2027. The announcements reflect both continuity and transition as the church prepares for new leadership in the next term.

Representatives from the church’s 59 divisions were given time to raise questions on their operations and to present their visions and strategies for the coming year. Morning sessions of the annual meeting are followed by choir performances each evening, ending on Friday.
